PERFECT VANILLA CUPCAKES WITH CUSTARD BUTTERCREAM
These are absolutely perfect vanilla cupcake topped with a creamy custard buttercream.

Ingredients
For the Perfect Vanilla Cupcakes
- 275 g plain flour
- 53 g cornflour
- 1 3/4 cups white granulated sugar
- 180 g butter, melted
- 2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract or paste (see notes)
- 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 4 large eggs, room temp
- 1 cup buttermilk, room temp
For the Custard Buttercream
- ¼ cup custard powder
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 230 g 1 cup / 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons cream or milk (see notes)
