Big Mac Salad Recipe

This easy Big Mac Salad recipe is a healthier take on the famous fast food cheeseburger! It is made with cooked ground beef, lettuce, mayonnaise-based sauce, and topped with pickles, and cheese.

Serves: 2 servings

Big Mac Salad:
  • 1 pound ground beef  (85-90% fat)
  • 1/2  onion  (diced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt 
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper 
  • 6 cups romaine lettuce  (chopped)
  • 1  small red onion 
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese  (shredded)
  • 1 cup tomato  (diced)
  • 1/4 cup pickles  (sliced)
Big Mac Sauce:
  • 1 cup mayonnaise 
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard 
  • 2 tablespoons sweet relish 
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup 
  • 1 teaspoon BBQ sauce 
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar 
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder 
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika 
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt 
  • Chopped green onions 
  • Sesame seeds 

Cook beef:
  1. Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high, and once hot add the beef. Breaking it with a spoon, cook it for 4-5 minutes, until browned.
  2. Add the onion, salt, and pepper and cook for another 4-5 minutes or until the onion is softened. The beef should look browned and slightly crispy.
  3. Remove from heat and set aside.
Big Mac Sauce:
  1. Whisk all the ingredients in a medium bowl until combined.
  1. Add the lettuce to a large bowl, top with the browned beef, red onion, cheddar cheese, tomato, and pickles.
  2. Drizzle the big mac sauce on top and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
  3. Serve immediately.
